Louisiana District Treasurers

 Jan & Steve Kerbow

Steve’s “ride” was a Honda 175 while in high school. In his senior year of college, he bought a Honda 750. After graduation in May 1976, he was no longer allowed to ride because he became an Air Force F-4 navigator – aviators were prohibited from riding motorcycles. Steve never lost his love of the “ride” so in 2007 we purchased a new Goldwing 1800. This was a new and somewhat scary experience for me as I had never ridden on a motorcycle before. However, once I rode a few times with Steve and became confident in his abilities, I fell in love with the experience.

We joined GWRRA in 2008 and our first Chapter was Chapter FL1-0 in Crestview, FL. The Chapter later moved its location 15 miles further east to Defuniak Springs, FL. We went on many rides and had lots of fun with our Florida Chapter friends until we moved to Louisiana in June 2012.

Once we were settled in Louisiana, we immediately started attending Chapter LA-O meetings. It wasn’t long before we became active officers in the Chapter. I became the Membership Enhancement Coordinator in January 2013 and still hold that position. Steve became Chapter Educator in January 2013 and in 2015 he became a Senior Chapter Educator. We both became GWRRA Seminar Trainers in 2014. In 2015 Steve also took on the role of Motor Awareness Coordinator and in 2016 I took on the additional role as Chapter Treasurer. At the District level, we served as Assistant District Educators from 2016 to April 2018.

We are excited about serving as your District Treasurers and look forward to working with each of you. Don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions. If we don’t know the answer, we will find someone who does.
